Hollin Meadows Elementary School in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County, received the first Traffic Garden in Fairfax County Public Schools during its most recent renovation. Funded by grants from the Virginia Department of Transportation and Neighborhood and Community Services, the scaled-down roadway pavement markings are helping educators teach bike, pedestrian, and road safety to students at the school.
