End of Year SMARTR Outcome: Math
Math Goal: Increase the pass rate for grade 3-6 students from 78% to 81% on 2018-2019 SOL Math test.
Strategy 1: Provide on-going professional development in support of implementation of new mathematics standards.
Strategy 2: Hold twice yearly grade level Data Dialogues to review common assessments such as the Problem Solving Assessment, Horizon assessments, and end of unit assessments to make instructional plans.
Strategy 3: Each team will meet weekly to learn, plan best math instructional practices (as defined in the Hollin Meadows non-negotiables for optimum student learning for Math), and analyze assessments with the purpose of ensuring that all students are making at least a year's worth of growth, regardless of their teacher assignment.
End of Year SMARTR Outcome: Reading
Reading Goal: Increase the pass rate for grade 3-6 students from 83% to 85% on the 2018-2019 SOL Reading test.
Strategy 1: By September 2018, 19 teachers will have attended a one-week Teacher College Reading Institute.
Strategy 2: Teams will analyze common assessments and develop plans to provide targeted interventions for students not making expected progress.
End of Year SMARTR Outcome: Project Based Learning
Project Based Learning Goal: During the 2018-2019 school year, all students will participate in a minimum of two Project Based Learning experiences.
Strategy 1: Provide Project Based Learning Academy Course training for all staff members during September - October 2018.
